The key to understanding typography is understanding how it can interact with images, shapes, colors, etc.
in a way that delivers the message in a way that is more effective than written words. To grasp this we experimented with different types of font color, size, direction, leading, kearning and themes. By using the three column grid in 
the black & white as well as color studies for the Pioneers of Modern Typography book cover we were able to gain the level of importance typography plays in design and should be used to enhance your design. Paul Schuitema’s work was also a premises of study in which we were asked to emulate the style of Schuitema in our own work.
